A detector finds the signal. The gear here turns that signal into a find: pinpointers to locate it, diggers and scoops to recover it, and pouches to carry it home. The right accessory often makes more difference to your finds than a pricier detector. New to the hobby? See what a first kit needs.

On land, a serrated digger and a pinpointer do most of the work, and a drop-leg pouch keeps both within reach. On the beach, swap the digger for a sand scoop and make sure your pinpointer is waterproof. If you'll wade, every piece needs to handle being submerged, including your headphones. Rinse everything in fresh water after a salt-water hunt.
